Even though moments earlier I'd thought of him as my safety net, I knew better than to just stroll out and introduce myself. I'd learned over the years that not everything was as it seemed. He looked nice and sounded nice, but hey, so did serial killersright until they put a knife to your throat. My dad's single dietary weakness was a frothy, sugary, colorful ICEE, which my mother equated to the devil's brew. Dad told me once that everyone needed to indulge in one bad-for-you thing. My biggest complaint about these is they read like romance novels.
I don't eat meat because I'm a good person. If all of this information had been casually introduced, I could have stomached it. However, it's drilled into you over, and over again.

These top selling books span multiple centuries, covering many genres and original languages. I hate to say it but I was very disappointed with this installment in the series. Conceptually I like the series in general but have found the last couple of books somehow lacking. So far this has been the weakest of the bunch. Ralph is mentioned a lot in earlier books but now that he had his own book I expected to get to know him better, instead we're told the story from Libby's side of things. This makes Ralph pretty cookie-cutter and unfortunately he feels strangely generic.
While other readers might find his attraction to Libby plausible I saw no actual reason for him to be drawn to her outside of her paranormal gifts. For me if the hero and heroine don't feel well matched I have a hard time enjoying a romance. For the last few months, stories about Broken Heart, Oklahoma, had circulated among paranormal investigators. Everything from sightings of Bigfoot to tales of flying men had been bandied about until my parents could no longer resist the challenge. They'd spent the last twenty-five years trying to prove the existence of vampires, werewolves, Bigfoot, angels, aliens, other dimensions, and all kinds of supernatural phenomenon. In 1983 they started Paranormal Research and Investigation Services, aka PRIS.

It's all tied up in a witty paranormal package that keeps me reading more when other paranormal romance books don't do nearly as much for me since they don't make me laugh like Michele's characters do. Things get a little devilish in the sixth Broken Heart novel from New York Times bestselling author Michele Bardsley. Everybody makes mistakes—my first one was named Connor, a heart-stealing Scottish hottie.
Ahhhhh I just loved reading this book. I just fell in love with Libby and Ralph and I was just so sad to turn the last page. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. The growls gave way to fierce barking. His puzzled expression switched to alarm. His eyes went wide and he dropped the spade, which was a good thing, because I launched myself at him. It was fun getting to know her and Ralph and meeting up with the other people who live in Broken Hill and are now members of The Consortium. I don't typically dig on paranormal romance, but I do love this series.

I never expected to fall in lust, but Ralph Genessa is too irresistible. Being a vampire, he should be, but for some reason, his glamour doesn’t work on me. Everything stayed pretty much on the surface though. Would have been nice if the two main characters were given a bit more depth. Seemed like as soon as I started the book it was already over with a happy ending for all of the good guys.
